My name is Ava Sarabi. I am a Master’s Industrial Design candidate at Pratt Institute in New York, specializing in sustainable design, biomaterials, and lighting design. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from Central Tehran Branch University in Iran, where my design journey began.

As the Co-founder of Saraab Design, I focus on creating conceptual lighting and furniture pieces that explore the intersection of nature, materiality, and human interaction. My lighting designs, such as “Ripple” and “Lunar Eclipse,” reflect my passion for combining natural inspiration with innovative craftsmanship.

I have also worked as a freelance lighting designer, collaborating with other designers to bring unique concepts to life. My portfolio includes work from my studies at Pratt, where I explore sustainable biomaterials, and projects like educational toys for children using mycelium, showcasing my dedication to impactful, meaningful design.
